First Frost & Untimely Bedrest
We awoke to our first frost of the year after a bitter cold and windy Sunday. The fields and barnyard were sparkling as the sun came up, but it didn't take long for the warmth to melt it all away.
In other news, Seife has a leg injury that landed him at the vet this morning. Doesn't look like anything is broken, so we think he pulled or strained something in his front leg/shoulder. Which is the good news. The bad news is that this 11-month old goof ball has to spend the next two weeks on strict bed rest in a kennel, only coming out to be hand walked quietly. No jumping, no playing, no running. Just pain meds, resting, and chewing on whatever we can find him that makes him happy.
Of course this is very untimely since the nephews are visiting from Virginia and all he wants to do is play with them.
Luckily we have two extra large kennels, so we zip tied them together to give him a little more room to move about. We also stopped at the local pet store on the way home and let him pick out the biggest bone they had in stock, in hopes of giving him something to do while he is confined. (He's touching the massive bone with his nose in this photo... it is huge!) He goes back to the vet for a recheck in two weeks.
