Up In Smoke
Not far from us, the Croatan National Forest is on fire due to a controlled burn over the weekend that got out of hand. As of today, over 8,000 acres has burned. We were in the clear as far as smoke was concerned until late this evening when the wind shifted in our direction and now it is quickly rolling in.
We've had a lot of rain in the last month, but unfortunately we've only been forecast a 20% chance of showers during the next few days. Officials are saying right now that no houses are being threatened, but we're under an unhealthy air alert.
