New roof

Our new standing seam metal roof is on the house, and with the exception of a few details we need to work out, we're glad to call this ordeal done.

More on this project at a later date.

  1. Metal roof have a hi-R heat barrier that reflects radiant heat, even in dark colors - that's a wise choice. It is also very resistant to fire. How are things going? Is it finished yet? I'd be glad if you could show some pictures, dear.

    1. The roof for the most part is complete... meaning the roofers are gone and there is a roof on the house. However, we had some serious issues with said roofer, and there are some minor problems they caused that we have decided to fix ourselves in order to be done with them. Unfortunately the whole process has been such a source of frustration, shoddy work, and missing tools (from our personal shop) that I have failed to take many updated photos. It is on my to-do list though.

  2. What a majestic-looking house! It certainly looks strong. Well, it’s a good thing you decided to go for a metal roof because metal roofs last from 12 to 20 years. It will be a long time before you need to do any re-roofing. By the way, why was that roofer all alone on the roof, Krissann? Where are the other contractors?
